LaVilla: Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing Heritage Trail

Heritage trails have always been underpinned and characterized by histories and narratives and so have been developed as a journey that links sites, attractions, and other tourism-based businesses by providing information and storytelling.

Urban heritage trails aid local economies especially through activities that attract tourism. In recent years, heritage trails in underserved, but historically important sections of cities, have been designed with the goal of assisting in ongoing revitalization efforts.

CPC served as the project lead with assistance from Carla Mechele Media, Erin Kendrick, Ashanta Williamson & Company for the LaVilla: Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing Heritage Trail in Jacksonville, FL. A major goal of the LaVilla: Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing Heritage Trail in Jacksonville, FL is for it to serve as an inclusive economic development focused on honoring the community's historical contributions to society, while stimulating cultural heritage tourism and revitalization opportunities.

Additional interpretive and heritage projects we’ve either provided consulting services or the exhibit content development for include the Wells Fargo Heritage Marker mural program in Duval, Pinellas and Broward counties, FL, 5th Avenue/Pleasant Street Heritage Trail in Gainesville, FL, Nassau County, FL Bicentennial exhibit, Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing Park, Cosmo Freedom Park, Johnson Commons interpretive marker projects and Sounds of Jacksonville art installation by artist Karen Kurycki in Jacksonville, FL.
